University of Glamorgan
“Top new university for Business and Management” – The Guardian 2003

Profile
“Looking for a first class university in a beautiful location?” reads one of the University posters. The fastest growing university in Wales, the University of Glamorgan offers a friendly and flexible environment in which to work and study. It was the first university in the UK to gain the Environmental Management Accreditation ISO 14001. Areas of study include Accounting, Business, Computers, E-Commerce, Education, Electronics, Environment, Health, Human Resources, Management, Marketing, Mechanical Engineering, Multimedia and Product Design.

Location
The University is on a modern, single campus in Treforest, near the busy market town of Pontypridd, just a short way from Cardiff, the buzzing capital of Wales. There is an excellent campus social life, but the University is also close to some outstanding venues for nightlife and sport (the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff hosts many top sporting events). The beautiful mountain scenery of the Brecon Beacons National Park and the spectacular beaches of the Glamorgan Heritage Coast and the Gower Peninsula are all very near, so there is a wonderful mix of entertainment, natural beauty and pleasant living.

Facilities
The University has the best facilities to make your learning experience as enjoyable and stress-free as possible. The Learning Resources Centre (LRC), open 7-days a week, provides books, journals, videos, newspapers, etc., and takes part in access schemes so students can also use other libraries throughout the UK. Each Academic School has an Information Librarian who can arrange information-handling training for students. The Education Drop-in Centre offers extra study support with access to reference materials and provision of tutorial support. On-campus you will find shops, a launderette, travel centre, cash machines, lots of restaurants, a nightclub (called Shafts) and bars with big screen TVs for sports. There are also outstanding sports and leisure facilities (Glamorgan was the venue for the 2001 British University Games).

Accommodation
All Halls of Residence are self-catering, single-study bedrooms, with many having en suite facilities. The friendly and experienced Accommodation Services staff are based on campus. For a virtual tour of our excellent campus accommodation, take a look at www.glam.ac.uk/tour.
